Log: Training Tsuna

((For the most part I expect to do this in rotations once each person joins in that'll set up the posting order unless someone wants to be skipped. So it may be easier for you all to actually put this post on notification so you can see when it's your turn! That way we all get a chance to respond. Let me know if that's not ok for you! Also you can post a ((skip)) to let people know that you're forfeiting that turn I've got it locked for now so I can format it nicely and re-post it when it's done!))

Killua hopped over the railing and swung a heavy duty duffel bag onto the deck. The wood creaked in protest underneath the bag and Killua landed lightly next to it, glancing around the deck before picking the duffel back up and calling out for their hosts. "Tsuna? Hey Tsuna! Reborn?" He could hear the rope ladder creaking behind him as Gon started his ascent.

Killua didn't even wait for a response yet, instead setting the bag down closer to the center of the deck and kneeling down to unzip it and start pulling the weights out for Tsuna. He lay them alongside the bag in order from head to foot, where they belonged.

Reborn started counting backwards from ten in a clear voice. Meanwhile, Tsuna struggled to get some distance, while Gon and Killua only braced themselves for instantaneous movement.

It would be just a bit too easy to go after Tsuna right away, considering that he hadn't had a chance to get used to everything yet. Killua had that special gift for disappearing that just about everyone in his family had trained for, but it would be slightly difficult to manage it with these handicaps on the deck in the middle of the day; though Reborn would certainly be happy to witness it. Gon, on the other hand, could move so silently that it almost seemed he wasn't there to the ears, which Reborn would have to rely more on, considering the eyepatch. And then there was the fact that he wouldn't be able to do as much maneuvering as he was used to...

Gon then, for now.

"Two, one." Reborn concluded and immediately shot off after Gon; his ankles briefly protested their abuse.

Gon felt Reborn take off like a cannon, not the vibrations through the wood on the deck, but like a change in the air around him. It had been nice and quiet, but suddenly it switched on and it felt fierce. The boy had felt this type of presence before when Hanzo, Gensuru and Razor were fighting him. The hair on the back of his neck stood up and he pushed off the ball of his foot and dodged quickly toward the side he knew Reborn had the eye patch. Gon was always one for testing limits, so he stayed quite close to Reborn but cautiously low meaning to pass by him which would force Reborn to spin in order to catch him.

It had been a long time since Reborn had felt as challenged as he did right now. He could feel himself getting excited by the prospect; he wasn't allowed to fight on Tsuna's behalf, after all, only to protect himself against attacks directed against his own person. But this was training and challenge and fun all rolled into one.

Reborn reached a hand out, partly for balance, partly to test for the passage of air around him, and right there is Gon, passing underneath where his arm would be, so close... but as he turned on his heels, they catch slightly awkwardly and that split second delay is enough for Gon to get out of his reach.

The air shifted around the boy and he slightly turned his head as if to see Reborn’s hand out of the corner of his eye. Even though he was blinded, he knew it was right there… somewhere, pretty close. He leapt forward, away from Reborn and tiger rolled, ending back on his feet in a crouched position. He twisted his hips so he was facing where he had left the hitman. Pausing he listened and felt through the air while mentally mapping his new location and trying to figure out where everyone else was in relation to him.

He could both hear and feel Gon's progress through the boards that make up the deck. Gon was not too far off but someone else was closer... (Wow, Tsuna had actually gotten really far, he thinks with a vague sense of pride) Reborn stepped forward, feeling the wet boards yield slightly under his feet, and then he whirled in the direction of Killua.

Finally, Reborn was getting the hang of moving in heels and a dress, and at a speed just a hint slower than his usual, he immediately changed direction back towards Gon. He hadn't managed to take more than a step or two in Killua's direction before his absolutely stunning acrobatic display (it was impressive even half-blinded; Reborn wasn't sure he could've managed to do the same, as he was), but this time there is no hesitation as he back steps smoothly and reaches out for Gon again, this time taking an extra step to cut off the obvious escape route.

Instead of finishing his mind map, Gon tried to feel out what was going on. From what he gathered, Reborn had switched directions and was going after one of the others. Tsuna or Killua? There was an unceremonious thud in that direction like someone trying to keep from falling, was it Tsuna? No, Tsuna probably would have yelled out the usual “Hiii—” if it were him. It must have been Killua getting caught up with his rope.

Ah, Gon wished he could have seen that—but before he could finish the thought he could feel the wood creaking under him. Reborn must have changed directions again. This time the steps were softer. He took several small but quick steps backwards just in case Reborn was coming after him again.

Gon's alertness was an absolutely amazing thing to see. It wasn't often that he got to watch someone who was so very in tune with their environment, though there was the very slightest touch of him being out of place, as if the rolling deck of a ship was not his native element. But Reborn was close, matching Gon step for step - he'd completed more than a few bare-handed hits from distances further than this...

Crap, Reborn was coming, but it was so smooth Gon couldn’t tell the distance anymore. He hopped back twice to be on the safe side however, it was apparently one too far as a calf hit the top of the railing midair tipping him backwards over the side of the boat. He arched his back almost into a semi-circle and caught onto the lower part of the railing with his hands. His feet swung around and smacked the side of the boat.

"AW MAN!" And Gon was "it" by default. He shimmied up the railing and hopped back down onto the deck. "Ten… nine…eight…"

Reborn stopped right where he was for a moment, impressed by Gon catching himself before falling into the water.

"Well, that's somewhat disheartening," he murmured, and immediately stepped away from Gon as he counted down. It vaguely registered that Killua was up by the helm, but where was Tsuna...

omg please shoot me for taking so long /dies

Tsuna was mostly unaware of what had been going on as Reborn pursued Gon, trying to get used to the feeling of the weights. With a little bit of effort, he was able to move fairly well, but it was just so slow.

...! He heard Gon counting down and winced. He got became 'it' already?! He had to pick up the pace and pay attention! "Eep!"

"Three, two, one!" Gon had been feeling out the ship, he wasn’t quite sure where exactly he had fallen off but he knew whereabouts. Anyhow, he knew the general area Reborn was, but he couldn’t really feel Killua at the moment. He did hear the audible sound from Tsuna, so that was a pretty good start. He took a few quick steps in that direction hands out in front of him, elbows bent, feeling for any solid objects in front of himself.

Turning around, he noticed Gon coming after him. Tsuna mentally facepalmed when he realized it was probably because he had made that sound earlier. He bit down on his lip nervously as he tried sneaking off in the opposite direction, trying to take light steps (or as light as he could manage with all that weight on him) to avoid the other boy.

No more noise... I can't outrun Gon!
